How to find your 2026 Roth conversion opportunity
Use the Roth Conversion Explorer to see how much more you can convert this year, including when you’ve already made a conversion.
Step 1: Enter any conversion you’ve already made
If you’ve already converted money to a Roth this year, add it first so the Explorer counts it. If you haven’t, skip to Step 2.
Go to Money Flows.
Add or review your Roth conversion for 2026, such as a $20,000 conversion made in June.
Step 2: Run the Roth Conversion Explorer
Go to Explorers > Roth Conversion Explorer.
Choose a strategy, your tax bracket (for example, 12%), how you’ll pay the tax, and the time period.
Press See my optimized plan.
The Explorer shows your total conversion for the year. Open the table below it to see the suggested additional amount. Because it counts conversions you’ve already made, the suggestion fills the rest of your chosen bracket.
Example: Anita and Ken converted $20,000 in June. They want to stay in the 12% bracket and pay the tax from their taxable accounts. The Explorer shows a total annual conversion of $48,702 and suggests converting $28,702 more.
Step 3: Apply the suggestion
Press Apply to Scenario.
In Money Flows, confirm you see the new conversion and your earlier one. Together they should fill your chosen bracket for 2026.
Keep in mind
Before you convert, run the numbers by your CPA or tax professional to confirm they fit your full tax picture.
Re-run the Explorer if your income, balances, or tax situation change.
