Beginning July 09, 2025, PlannerPlus subscriptions will be subject to sales tax based on your location. Below is everything you need to know about this recent change to subscriptions.

How Sales Tax is Determined

Sales tax will now be automatically calculated based on your location, using one of the following methods:

  1. IP Geolocation: Your location is first determined based on your IP address.

  2. ZIP Code: If IP geolocation doesn’t provide an accurate location, you will be prompted to enter your ZIP code to ensure the correct tax rate is applied.

Once your location is identified, the correct sales tax rate for your PlannerPlus subscription will be calculated.

What Will Change?

Sales tax will now be included in the total cost of your PlannerPlus subscription based on your location.

What Won’t Change?

  • The price of PlannerPlus will remain the same.

  • The subscription flow (e.g. sign-in or sign-up process) will remain the same.

  • How we store and manage your subscription information in our system will not change, except for the addition of sales tax data.

Why are we Using Stripe for the State Tax Calculation?

We’re using Stripe’s Automatic Tax feature to calculate the appropriate sales tax rate based on your location. This ensures that the tax rate is accurate and up-to-date, and we are simply passing that information on to you.
