What is Boldin AI?

Boldin AI is a conversational planning feature that allows you to ask questions about your unique financial plan using natural language and explore “what-if” scenarios based on your actual data.

Rather than functioning as a help or support tool, Boldin AI lets you ask questions about your own financial situation and receive guidance grounded in your actual financial plan. It uses your real data to help you understand tradeoffs, explore scenarios, and decide what to review or adjust next.

It can be accessed in the top right corner of your Boldin Plan by pressing "Ask" button:

Unlike generic AI chat tools, Boldin AI is grounded in your modeled plan and can:

  • Reference your accounts, income, expenses, and assumptions

  • Run real scenarios and projections

  • Explain how and why outcomes change

  • Link you directly to the place in the planner where those insights apply, so you can immediately review, adjust, and act

It's designed to help you explore, understand, and navigate your plan more confidently.

What You Can Use It For

Boldin AI is especially helpful when you want to:

  • Explore retirement timing questions
    “When can I securely retire?”

  • Check plan completeness
“Is my plan complete and up to date?”

  • Stress-test assumptions
“Am I prepared for a market downturn?”

  • Compare planning strategies
“Might I benefit from Roth conversions?”

  • Discover useful next steps
“What scenarios should I consider running?”

You can ask follow-up questions within the same conversation to explore tradeoffs and understand how different choices affect your plan.

How It Works

Boldin AI uses the information you’ve entered into your Plan to generate responses and run simulations.

Key things to know:

  • Results are based on your current plan data

  • Changes in outputs usually reflect changes in assumptions, timing, or strategy

  • Boldin AI may link you directly to sections of the planner where those changes occur

  • Conversations are saved so you can return to them later

  • Because guidance is tied directly to your plan, you can move seamlessly from insight to action without leaving the Planner

Message Limits and Access

Boldin AI is available to all users and does not require beta mode or PlannerPlus to use. Your access depends on your subscription level:

Basic users

  • Up to 5 questions per day

  • You’ll see an option to upgrade when the limit is reached

PlannerPlus users

  • Up to 200 questions per conversation

  • You have unlimited conversations

NOTE: You can access previous Boldin AI conversations by selecting the expand icon:

At this time, you cannot access previous conversations on a mobile device.

Providing Feedback

You can help improve Boldin AI by using the thumbs-up or thumbs-down buttons on responses.

This feedback helps Boldin identify what’s working well and where improvements are needed.

Limitations & Privacy

Boldin AI is designed to support exploration, understanding, and education. It is not a substitute for professional financial, tax, or legal advice.

Please keep the following in mind when using this new feature:

  • Results and projections are hypothetical and not guaranteed

  • Outputs are based on the information in your plan, and accuracy depends on how complete and up-to-date that information is

  • Boldin AI may occasionally misunderstand questions, context, or assumptions

  • Important decisions should always be reviewed directly within the Planner

  • Boldin AI is intended to help you explore tradeoffs and possibilities, not provide personalized recommendations

Your privacy matters:

  • Conversations may be reviewed by internal Boldin team members to improve the Boldin AI over time

  • Do not share highly sensitive information such as Social Security numbers or account passwords

By using Boldin AI, you acknowledge these limitations and agree to Boldin’s terms of service.
