MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It's an open standard that lets AI assistants connect directly to outside tools and pull in real data, instead of just working from what you type into the chat.
Boldin has an MCP server. It lets you connect your own AI assistant to your Boldin plan so it can run forecasts, pull your plan data, model what-ifs, and check things like Spending Guardrails and Roth conversion opportunities, all from wherever you're already working.
This is different from Boldin AI, the assistant built into the Boldin platform. Boldin AI lives inside Boldin and answers with the guardrails, disclaimers, and framing Boldin puts around every response. MCP is the opposite direction: it hands your outside AI assistant direct access to Boldin's own tools, with none of that framing. The agent gets the numbers and presents them however it's built to. Because of that, MCP is best suited to people who are comfortable interpreting raw plan data themselves.
How to connect
Open an AI assistant that supports MCP (eg. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini).
Ask it to connect to the Boldin MCP server.
Sign in with your Boldin account when prompted. Your connection is tied to your own account.

Because MCP responses don't pass through Boldin AI's guardrails, treat the output the way you would any raw data pull: useful, but worth double-checking against your plan directly, especially for decisions you're about to act on.
