The Savings Balances chart on the Insights page shows you projections of savings and investment account balances over the course of your plan.

Annual balances are as of the end of the year.

PRO-TIP: Use meaningful labels when you create accounts in your plan so that it is easier to map accounts on the Insights charts.

What should I look for?

  • Notice which accounts are largest right now.

  • Notice which accounts grow over time. Notice which accounts deplete over time. Does it match the results you expected?

  • Notice the allocation of taxable, tax-deferred and Roth accounts over time. Does the allocation change?

What next?

  • See how the chart changes if you change your plan assumptions from optimistic to pessimistic

  • See how the chart changes if you update something in your plan, such as working longer, spending less, or saving more
