Boldin uses a secure account linking service called Meld to connect your financial accounts and keep balances up to date automatically. This article explains how syncing works, how long it takes, and what to do if an account isn't updating correctly.
How Often Do Linked Accounts Update?
Once you link an account, Boldin attempts to sync it automatically twice a day, in near real time.
Newly linked accounts may take 2-3 business days to fully sync. During this window, you may see a message that the account was last updated "Invalid Date." This is expected. Once the initial balance transfer completes, the date will update to reflect the most recent sync.
Specialized accounts, such as those held with ADP or Wealthscape, often take longer to sync, sometimes up to a full week.
If your accounts aren't updating, start by checking the Connections section to confirm every account shows as linked. An account that's only partially linked may need to be reconnected manually using the Link Account option.
Is There a Manual "Update Accounts" Button?
No. Boldin does not have a manual refresh or "update accounts" feature. Syncing happens automatically on Boldin's schedule, twice daily.
What If an Account Hasn't Updated in 5+ Business Days?
Keep the account connected. Don't remove it. Contact the Boldin Support team and include:
The account name
The financial institution
The approximate date it last updated
This information helps our team investigate the issue with our linking provider, Meld.
If the issue continues after you've reported it, you can also try removing and re-adding the connection.
What If an Account Hasn't Updated in Weeks or Months?
If an account has been stuck for an extended period, switching to a different account linking aggregator is usually the fastest fix.
Meld, Boldin's account linking provider, connects through three aggregators: Plaid, MX, and Finicity (Mastercard). If you're not sure which one your account is currently using, contact the Boldin Support team and we can confirm this for you.
Once you know your aggregator:
Remove the connection for the affected account.
2. Re-add the connection, this time selecting a different aggregator than the one you were previously using.
For accounts with specialized providers like ADP or Wealthscape, follow the same remove-and-reconnect process through the designated aggregator, then allow the standard 3-5 day sync window.
